Tracy's Dish

I encountered this dish about ten years ago at a friend's house. It stuck in my mind and I  have always wanted to recreate it. Since friends come and go and so do recipes I was forced to do it from memory. I remembered three things about the dish: molasses, it was Asian inspired and it had broccoli. Here is my version. Papa noodle was probably hungry after he ate it because he is not a big fan of Asian inspired food but he did give me the usual, "this is really good, thank you" comment. However baby noodle went to town. It reminds me that if you make things a little sweet babies will eat just about anything. So far.

Tracy's Party Broccoli
Vegetables/Tofu
Two large crowns broccoli cut into small florets
Two green beans from you garden (or however many you have... or if your a wimp you can buy them at the store.
Three large leaves of kale
One package baked tofu (fried a little if you like)
Rice
1 1/2 cups sticky rice prepared your favorite way
Sauce
1/4 cup. molasses
Two tablespoons each soy sauce and brown sugar
One garlic clove cut or smashed into teeny, tiny pieces
1/2 teaspoons. sesame oil

How To
1. Steam vegetables beginning with broccoli, then adding green beans and then kale.
For babies let those veggies go a little longer so they become soft.
2. Combine sauce ingredients and whisk until smooth.
3. Add steamed veggies and tofu to sauce and toss
4. Place rice in bowl and top with veggies, tofu and extra sauce

Eat with chopsticks if you like. I will be giving Papa Noodle a big fork. Thanks Tracy.
